  • Dr. Marwa Ahmed specializes in sports, spine and musculoskeletal medicine which dovetail with her innate intrigue in human musculoskeletal anatomy and kinesiology. With a master of science degree in human genetics from the University of Michigan, Dr. Ahmed brings a unique and biological perspective to her practice. She has strong interests in regenerative medicine and nutritional genomics as well as their specific applications in the field of musculoskeletal medicine, including the molecular mechanisms that underlie physical performance, cellular aging, injury and repair. Dr. Ahmed__s treatment philosophy is one that incorporates and optimizes an individual__s nutritional status to cultivate and promote tissue healing as well as prevent injury. This approach has frequently and almost consistently lead to profound improvements in her patients__ wide range of symptoms, injuries and illnesses.Dr. Ahmed received her medical degree from the Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar, where she was also peer selected as the recipient of the Good Physician Award. She completed her internship at the Virginia Commonwealth University Hospital and residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at New York Presbyterian Hospital ___ Columbia College of Physician and Surgeons and Weill Cornell Medical College. During residency, she also rotated at the Hospital for Special Surgery and Memorial-Sloan Kettering Cancer Center where she treated and managed patients with complex orthopedic injuries and cancer-related musculoskeletal complications. She is board-certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation as well as the American Board of Integrative and Holistic Medicine.Dr. Ahmed is a member of several scientific organizations including the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, International Spine Intervention Society, and the New York County Medical Society.
